I am very interested in doing 'Sweeney Todd' as our October Production. Please could you email me at ilgbgc@yahoo.co.uk to let me know who I need to contact in regards to Royalities.

Many Thanks

Lisa SeagerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12657288.post-1142726566532993222006-03-18T19:02:00.000-05:002006-03-18T19:02:00.000-05:00I have to disagree on a particularly important poi...I have to disagree on a particularly important point: the chief problem of this revival is not creating an ensemble piece with stars, it is that John Doyle has taken a clear, well-told story and rendered it bloody incomprehensible.Bretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10437813501373968028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12657288.post-1130184289419401692005-10-24T16:04:00.000-04:002005-10-24T16:04:00.000-04:00Thank you, Anonymous. And I'm surprised more folks haven't linked *this* "Teeny Todd" to that one.Playgoerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02994724588504353485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12657288.post-1130182788411382892005-10-24T15:39:00.000-04:002005-10-24T15:39:00.000-04:00A fine review. But for the record, this production marks Sweeney Todd's second Broadway revival, not its first as is posited here.

The first revival of Sweeney Todd opened at Circle in the Square in 1989. It was directed by Susan H. Schulman, starred Bob Gunton and Bess Fowler, and is the production that became known as "Teeny Todd."

Keep up the good writing and thinking.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12657288.post-1129732233663305122005-10-19T10:30:00.000-04:002005-10-19T10:30:00.000-04:00About previews...basically Playgoer sees shows whe...About previews...basically Playgoer sees shows when he can. And sometimes that's comped previews. As a non-affiliated blog, I don't feel bound by the usual press & industry ethics--which are valid, by the way. My promise to myself was that if I did critique a preview I would at least note that. I regret that I forgot to do that in this case, so I have since added that information. I apologize to you and to the "Sweeney Todd" people (not that they're reading!) and I hope that goes at least some way towards addressing your complaint, anonymous.Playgoerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02994724588504353485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12657288.post-1129692749853849322005-10-18T23:32:00.000-04:002005-10-18T23:32:00.000-04:00Yo!
