A surprisingly diffident David Mamet goes on The Colbert Report to hawk his book, his play, his children's book, and talk about why directors are unnecessary and the theatrical equivalent of carbohydrates.

Everything Mamet has said for the past 20 years or so has sounded like a writer who was SERIOUSLY screwed over by Hollywood and Broadway. Which, maybe, but does he really hold Gregory Mosher in that little regard?
