Deep Thought

On the true nature of theatre:

Hours of rehearsal can go into the most sublime, subtle, and sensitive acting moment on stage.Then, at any given performance, some guy with too much phlegm can just cough right over it...and no one will notice your work.

... Or spill a pocket full of loose change on a hardwood floor and take all the time he needs to get down on his knees and retrieve every penny!

Yeah, but for the cast there's always tomorrow night. I'm more bothered by stuff like that when I'm part of the audience than when I'm part of the show.

And that is exactly why I love the theater. It can't be about capturing that one perfect moment - it's too fleeting. All moments become perfect instead :)
