Deep Thoughts
Equating the American Theatre with Broadway is like limiting discussion of movies to major Hollywood studio releases. Or all television to prime time programming on "the three networks."
Kinda out of date, no?

And yes, it is out of date.
Absolutely. Broadway has not defined American theatre (and by that I mean being the place where the best new work is done) in about 40 years--just about as long as I've been alive.
