Did We Just Get an Arts Czar?
Pointing to a little noted NYT weekend item, blogger Judith Dobrzynski thinks "the White House seems to have appointed an arts czar -- but no one seems to have noticed."
Or at least, as the Times put it, a "staff position in the White House to oversee arts and culture in the Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs."
His name is Kareem Dale.
Who???

Bad news for the visual arts: he's partially blind! In fact, he was formerly Special Assistant to the President on Disability Policy. I wish I was making this up.

um, point taken...but was that meant to be a bad joke?
Bad joke? You bet! The worse joke is that it's hard to find any evidence his interest in arts'n'culture. He's a disability activist.
