I like Portlandia, but I think FA & CB are too comfortable in their "let's be weird" mode instead of really pushing the sketches into their subject and exploring character. I was thinking this sketch would comment on casting directors' fixations, for example on "the look", i.e. some guy hits a homerun but doesn't look the part so they ditch him and go with the guy who's never played before but looks right. As it is, their quirks are funny, but the scene is not that distinguishable from the other sketches in the show, apart from the baseball field. My favorite so far was the Aimee Mann sketch, or the dumpster divers' dinner party.
