Handke in NYT
The Times gives Peter Handke a chance to tell his side, albeit in the soundbite-format of their Sunday Magazine "Questions for..." page.
Handke manages to make his case that he is not pro-genocide, while he also gently mocks the exercise:
[Handke:] Language is language, and language is not for opinions.
[NYT:] What is language for?
[Handke:] This is the question! This is a big question, and there is no answer. Language exists to become language in the great books.
[NYT:] Aren't we using language now in this conversation?
[Handke:] The most real dialogue for me is when I am alone, writing.
